Ramadan Is Finally Here!!!
Ramadan Mubarak!!!! I am soooooooo excited that Ramadan is FINALLY here. Ramadan is when Muslims fast from Sunrise to Sunset. No food or drink. This way you have more tolerance and patience, your body is also purified during Ramadan. Most importantly, you know how the Hungry feel, and more willing to give Zakat, and you are constantly thinking about Allah throughout the day.We get up right before Sunrise and have a big breakfast.
This is my FAVORITE time of the year.I love the atmosphere and Breaking Fast(ending the fasting for the day) Usually when Muslims break fast we drink a glass of water along with some Dates. I love TV shows on the Arabic channels, it ‘s so much fun to watch them with your friends and family. It’s cool to see your relatives during Ramadan and Break Fast with them. I hope everyone has a Happy Ramadan!!!!

Scientology:Is It As Crazy As We Think?
First off I just wanted to say that I am NOT in any way promoting Scientology, I am just stating the facts of it. When people think of Scientology, they almost automatically think crazy, and here’s why. A man named L. Ron Hubbard,a Science Fiction writer, came up with a story that says about 75 million years ago an evil galactic overlord who owned 76 planets, named Xenu gathered 13.5 trillion people on Earth and sent them to volcanoes and dropped bombs on them due to overpopulation. He then trapped the souls in non-reality boxes, and now, since the souls are confused they have tried to escape, and each one of us right now have 2,000 alien souls trapped in us.
Many Scientologists either completely reject the story, or try to cover it up some how. Before you too, go on and judge Scientology, hear me out. By the way, I only briefly described the story.
Basically, Scientology isn’t really as crazy as we think, if Scientology is crazy, then so are the major religions of the world. Judaism, Christianity, and Islam all believe in an all-powerful God of some sort. For example, We Muslims believe Allah (God) created all of Mankind, plants, and animals. He created the Earth, sky, and Seven Heavens. Not only that, we all believe of some sort of Prophets, Christ. and Islam teach that Jesus could bring back the dead and help blind people see again. Not to mention Noah, who was swallowed by a whale and survived. (Now, I’m not saying these religions are all crazy and false, because after all, I am Muslim, I’m just saying what we believe in.) Doesn’t that sound crazy and unrealistic? It’s really not so different than Scientology, Xenu, to Scientologists, is the galactic overlord, he had power over everything, kinda like God, except we don’t believe God is evil. He trapped the alien’s souls, like God takes our soul after we die.
Scientology teaches that the reason we all feel angry and sad is because that Xenu has control over our emotions and that he sends like, some sort of waves to us that make us feel bad, and Scientology basically teaches not to let Xenu take over us like that. Scientology means study of the truth. There are three parts to us.
Thetan, meaning spirit, which is the most important.
Mind,
and Body. Scientology also teaches man has the power to achieve all the goals we set for ourselves, even if we don’t realize it. So it actually encourages people to go out and do what they want.
So now I briefly told you about Scientology and it’s teachings, if you want you can study Scientology even further.
The Equality of Men and Women in Islam
Many people argue that women are second class compared to men in Islam, and in some countries they are right, but in those “Muslim” countries they don’t go by God’s word, they go by man’s word, and here’s an example as to why: Women are naturally, morally, and religiously defective.(Bukhary) You will find some people enforcing this sometimes, but this is not the word of God. In Islam men and women are equal, no one is considered in a higher status than anyone else. Here’s and example: “As for those who lead a righteous life, MALE or FEMALE , while believing, will enter paradise, without the slightest injustice.” You’ll find more similar versus.People sometimes desert the Quran to twist and change things to where it pleases them, and it’s happening right now in some middleastern countries.
Women’s Rights in Islam:
The right and duty to obtain education.
The right to have their own independent property
The right to earn money if they need or want it.
The right to express their opinion and be heard.
The right to obtain divorce, even if she simply can’t stand him. There are way more, I got these from themodernreligion.com
Women are continued to be treated like this because there is no one in those countries to tell men to stop. Imagine every thing you’d do if you had no religion, if there were no rules, or anyone stopping you, some people would take advantage of it soo much, and that’s why it’s such a problem today. Some people have said to me that it’s not fair women don’t get as much in inheritance as men do, the reason they get more is because the man is the one with the duty to provide for the family financially in every way. The inheritance may help him, but women really don’t need as much as their brothers because our duty in Islam is to take care of the house. Women are allowed to have jobs in Islam if they want or need extra money, just as long as they can get their duties at home completed, but a husband may not make his wife give him money, even if it is an emergency, because it’s HIS job to provide for the family. So remember ; “God treats MEN and WOMEN as spiritual equals.” Quran 3:195 This is true in REAL Islamic community.
Islam Spread by the Sword?
Every time people attack me or any one else about our religion they almost always bring up that Islam was spread by the sword. They never fail to see it upon themselves to bring Islam down by stupid lies or opinions they feel should be stated as facts. The reason people feel the need to say this is because they get upset when they hear Islam is the second largest religion and it is currently the fastest growing, especially in America and Europe, was Islam really spread by the sword? Let’s see.
There are over 14 million Arab Coptic Christians,a Coptic Christian is someone who has been in the Middleast from the very beginning since Christianity was formed. With 14 million Coptic Christians in the Middleast, how could Islam have been spread by fear and force? If Islam really was forced upon, then wouldn’t all the Christians have died off? Did you know that today most of those Christians, and Jews, and Indians are converting to Islam on their OWN FREE WILL ???Most people that are converting to Islam are women, but I’ll get into that in another post hopefully.
Now, listen, I’m not saying that Muslims never forced their religion on anyone, because there are bad people, Christians threw you in a fire pit if you weren’t one, Jews did the same thing too, every religion has at least one small group that claims to be a certain religion but really just spreads a bad word for the faith itself. With that said, NO ONE has the right to tell you lies to bring you down, and NO ONE has the right to tell you that you’re going to hell if you choose not to follow a certain faith. But at the same time,do not tell lies to get your point across, that is what’s happening to Islam everyday, there are headlines on the internet and the news that are always saying somthing wacky and stupid.Don’t believe the media, read the Quran and see for yourself, that goes for ANY religion; read the Bible, Torah, and whatever holy book there is to a religion and learn from what you see and what is true.
Hijaab
As a Muslim girl, I am required to wear the hijaab. On my 13 birthday I woke up and started thinking about the hijaab, I asked my self what I had to lose and everything. As easy as 1-2-3 I decided I wanted to put it on, and I did,all my friends were so supportive, well most of them, I felt really good and CONFIDENT about myself, I didn’t have to worry about how I looked. But many people say that it is just oppression. Here are a few reasons to wear it, and you decide if it’s “oppression”. Reason 1: To gain respect, not to be taken as some sex object by men,to be attractive with our minds, not looks. Reason 2: To be modest. To cover everything that draws unwanted attention. Reason 3: To save ourselves for marriage, it’s an easy way to say”BACKOFF”. The most important reason is because Allah told us to. There are MANY more reasons. How come Muslim women are oppressed, but not nuns? Have you seen what people think Virgin Mary looks like? In all her pictures she’s covered up. Now, why don’t people call that oppression? The reason is because of the hate people have for Muslims right now. Whenever a 15 year old Muslim girl agrees to marry a 25 year old boy in the middleast, it’s all over the media, but if it’s a mistake and it’s a Christian, they don’t care. People all over the internet claim they once were Muslims and say all these bad things about Islam just because they hate it so much.
The reason for the hijaab is for modesty and for RESPECT. Imagine this: Two identical twins are walking down the street. One is wearing the hijaab and is covered up, the other one is wearing a mini skirt and a tank top. There is a boy at the end of the street looking for a “catch”. Who do you think is going to hit on and tease her by saying something like “Hey Ho!” ? Is that respect, being called a ho? No one is going to like you for your personality if you wear clothing like that when your a teen or older. They’re gonna be looking at something else, trust me.
Questions About Christianity.
I am a Muslim, and I just started wearing the hijaab, or headress. Many people at school have come up to me and asked me questions about my faith, after I tell them how happy I am with Islam, all I see is the person’s head shaking in disapprovement. Now that I think about it, why are they so mad inside?Do they really think I’m missing out on paradise or something? So many people have tried in the slyest ways to change me…little by little, as if I will, for some reason, just suddenly come home and decide I want to be a Christian.Well, when people ask me if I will ever convert to Christianity, or when I will convert,I say no, and if I wanted to, I’m allowed at the age of eighteen. But I know I won’t convert because there are so many questions I have about Christianity, that I just can’t get the answers, and I can’t go past that. One question I had is why are mentally disabled people not allowed in heaven? One friend said they’re not allowed, the other said they are.I just can’t get any answers to my questions. There are sooo many things I researched in the bible that just don’t make sense to me, and until they do there is no need for people to force their religion upon me; whether it’s Christianity,or being a Jew, or Hinduism, I’m not going to be anything but a Muslim. So please, just accept people as they are. Don’t try to change someone if they don’t try to change you.
