Racial Pride?

July 29, 2008 at 4:03 am (Life)

The reason some people of a certain race get so excited and hyped when a person from their race uncovers something new or does something extravagant is usually because that certain race has been put down so many times, that anything that triggers success gives them hope to change the reputation of their background, whether it’s a certain race or religion.People feel useful. You can say religious pride.;-)

Native Americans,Blacks,Irish, Catholics,Russians and Muslims have all experienced or are experiencing some sort of discrimination, like my teacher said, it’ll all pass. But until then, people feel like they need a way to prove themselves in any way, science, entertainment, politics, and even beauty.

But honestly, this needs to stop, We, as Human Beings, should all live and unite as One and should not even recognize the difference in each others’ skin color, or religion, and backgrounds. Without interacting in a nice and mannerly way with each other, we won’t get anywhere, if we all did get along and erased the differences, we could all learn so many interesting things, and be more worldly, it is a big world and the more you strive to accept and be aware you’ll have a better understanding of different people.

Reflecting on the Economy and the World

June 30, 2008 at 4:25 am (Life)

Gas prices have reached record prices, bread, milk, and almost everything else in the grocery store have shot up in prices. So as expected, everyone is freaking out, more and more people are noticing depression symptoms in themselves. But a lot of people don’t realize how lucky we STILL are.

What I’m saying is that there are people who aren’t as fortunate as we are, they would KILL to be in the position that most of us are in, even though all the prices have gone up. Some people can’t afford to feed their families, or put a roof over their heads. But most people living in America can still afford to buy junk food, (maybe not as much) toothpaste, shampoo, and even clothes that we don’t really need, we can still live without those things that I just listed, but to us, it’s a NEED. We don’t have to go to bed hungry.

I understand why a lot of people are complaining, because it is getting pretty bad, but I just want to show people that we still have a lot to be thankful for. I even found this site ;freerice.com It’s a word game, and for each word meaning you get right, you donate 20 grains of rice, it might not seem a lot, but it adds up, so if you feel like you want to give back or you’re just bored, visit the site!

Respecting the People That Gave You Life

June 21, 2008 at 5:21 am (Life)

Your parents(and Allah) are the only reason you have what you have.”Give thanks to Me and your Parents.”[31:14] We all relied on our Mother for food and nourishment. A man once asked the prophet ” Who is the most important person in my life?”

“Your Mother,” the Prophet replied.

“Then who?”

“Your Mother”

“Who next?”

“Your Mother.”

And finally the Prophet said your Father, and so the mother deserves three times more respect then the father; ” Paradise lies under the feet of the Mother.” is said in a famous hadith. Mothers always worry about their child’s well being and safety, they struggle for nine months to raise a baby, and sacrifice their own comfort.

Both your parents deserve respect and love. A society cannot run without a family structure, if there were no families, people would all be living alone with no support, and we’d all be depressed and mentally lost. When we’re alone, the devil finds a chance to accompany us and make us sin.

Parents have the right to be respected, right to scold, and they should be looked after. It’s reported that someone carried his Mother on his back for basically anything she couldn’t do, so he asked the prophet if he has fulfilled his duties toward her, the prophet said no because his mother did the same when he was young, except she was hoping a long life for him, he was waiting until she was gone.

No matter what, you’re parents will always love you, if you have wronged them in any way, it’s important to let them know that you’re sorry. You’ll always have family no matter what, and everyone should make the effort to be close with them.       “The parent is the best among the doors of Paradise, so lose that door or protect it.”   Some of the versus I got are from www.islam101.com
